Hymn to Eden

Hymn to Ede

In the Garden of Eden,
where the white lilies grow.
In the Garden of Eden,
... wakes the seed of my soul...

Under wavering willows,
bedded safe in my breast,
it will rankle in dreams
of a sweet robins nest...

And with pearls of dew
on my naked hide,
Ill astraddle the unicorn
in his stride...

We will pace through the woodlands,
mongst the valleys and streams.
Where the butterflies flutter
and the ray of sun beams...

In a circle of roedears
I shall sing ancient songs,
of a secretive haven
to which we all belong...

I shall fondle the hedgehog,
kiss the badger good night,
send my love to the starling
whom is chirruping bright...

And, when night falls
Ill gather green moss for a bed
and slide under thin veils
of rosy and red...

All the stars will endeavour
this journey of night,
with their promise of guidance
and twinkeling light...

I shall float through the fog
and let go of my fear.
Love will conquer all evil
if my faith stays aclear...

So, Ill trust in the darkness,
as I trust dawn to be...
And I pray for our spirits
to be joyous and free...

It is not in our future,
it is not in our past.
No, its just in our present
that our being will last...
