Vi har också fått ett mail från företagets "Social club" har vid europeiska huvudkontoret i Brighton, England. På grund av ett inställt möte med New York-människor står en buffé och ruttnar och vi uppmanas komma och äta upp den.
Bara tanken kväljer mig.

Någon hade visst talat i telefon med NY-kontoret igår när samtalet bara bröts.

Våra chefer vet inte vad de skall säga. Många amerikaner som arbetar här kom inte till arbetet idag och jag hoppas av hela mitt hjärta att en krisgrupp är tillsatt.

När jag kom ut från kontoret igår kväll patrullerade ett par poliskonstaplar utanför och i morse var säkerhetskontrollen lite extra noggrann. Jaha.

Jag har inga nära bekanta som arbetar arbetade? i USA. Även om jag hade det så skulle jag inte kunna komma i kontakt med dem.

Oj, nu kommer min avdelningschef in och annonserar ett möte med en högre chef angående "Tragedin". Det skall tydligen talas säkerhet och ekonomisk utveckling.

Vi känner oss dämpade. Jag är lite skamsen, nästan. Flera av kollegorna uttryckte igår en rädsla for att mista arbetet. Vi hade ingen TV och mycket dålig internetuppkoppling på kontoret och det dröjde ända tills vi kom hem innan vi kunde börja försöka ta in det som hant.

Det känns inte lika angeläget idag som igår att försöka driva in 130 000 kronor fran strippklubben Kino. Eller att planera min semester. Eller att deppa over bokförlagsjobbet jag inte fick.

Subject: Update on Todays Tragedy

To: All American Express Employees


By now you have all heard the tragic news of the attack on lower Manhattan and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. Im writing to provide some additional information regarding the immediate impact on American Express.

We evacuated all employees from the American Express Tower and 7 World Trade Center shortly after 9 a.m. Eastern time. The evacuation was a comprehensive effort conducted by Security, but there is always a chance that not all employees left the building. We have no specific information about this yet.

There are a small number of employees assigned to an office in 1 World Trade Center Tower we believe fewer than 20. We do not have definitive information about them at this time, but we are contacting their homes.

We do not know the extent of the damage to the American Express Tower, and the earliest we will know is tomorrow. My understanding is that, in addition to the two main towers, 7 WTC has also collapsed.

We have notified New York City employees via voice mail and an emergency hotline the Business Continuity Hotline at 888-505-0040 that the American Express Tower, as well as all American Express facilities in lower Manhattan will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday. We will provide an update with regard to the rest of the week sometime tomorrow. In addition, we will provide updates to employees via e-mail as information becomes available."
