Do you think then itd be any different if she wouldnt wear the veil and still were known to be Muslim? According to your logic any news-anchor should have to be both politically and religiously neutral in order to get the job.

Besides, wouldnt it also be a great opportunity? Imagine a debate between Swedish Jews and Palestinians, with a Muslim or Jewish, for that matter moderator who nevertheless manages to be neutral and compromising between the two parties.

Frederik> A difference-yes and no.
Myself I would actually feel more comfortable with someone sponsored by a company because their self-interest and agenda is normally rather obvious, limited and straightforward. Religious opinions however may bias the presentation of any number of issues in any number of ways, depending on the interpretations of the individual and sometimes the degree of control s/he is submitted to by religious authorities and their agendas.

Struntsnack att SVT-anställda måste vara både politiskt och religiöst neutrala. Vad de måste vara är att uppträda neutralt i fakta-program.
