Känner du så, Thomas, respekterar jag Din uppfattning. Min Gud, för att anknyta till Din beskrivning, är så här för mig:
- Han vill ge mig en chans att få hjälp med det som är svårt. Han vill att vi skall bära bördorna tillsammans. Men då måste jag ju berätta vad som tynger, ellr hur?
Så gör man ju när man ber en vän om hjälp också. mvh KY

Det är ju bara det att din gud inte är gud. Han är skapad av människorna själva. Av människor utan tro på sig själv har de skaffat en gud/krycka som dessutom är så himla småaktig bara för att de som fick makten över religinen kunde använda guden för sina egna syften.

I know that its a standard-reply, but here goes: do you think, then, Tomas, that religious people like Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., Mother Teresa to name just the most famous ones lacked faith in themselves, and used cheap and naive mental tricks to get the strength to do what they did?

As for the idea of God being mans invention: its a belief, just like the belief that God exists. All you can do is live according to and have faith in your beliefs, and then see where you end up.

You can compare faith in God to faith in the love of your partner. You cant prove it, since she can always act nicely out of purely selfish reasons. If you remain skeptical then the relationship will die. If however you take the risk and have faith in her love, then the relationship flourishes. Same with faith in God.

As for faith being a krycka: hardly. If it were a man-made spiritual teddy-bear, then it wouldnt have included the challenge of service to others and of continuously improving oneself, emphasising instead a lazy status-quo. Just like love in a relationship its as much as a challenge as it gives comfort. It seems way easier to create my beliefs according to my own needs and interests, if youd ask me.
