To teach is something else! To believe in it is a big different,for me any way.
If you would read the Holy Bible as a any kind of a book and then discuss it like people discuss a play,that would be a enourmus differense. But to live as the script tells you to do from the Holy Bible is madness.

The way Ive learned to look at the Bible is actually not so different from the way Id get inspiration from, say, a book by Goethe. Your discussing it as if it were a play, so to speak, and letting it affect ones look on life. There are aspects of the human condition that are universal and of all ages, and the Bibles popularity can be seen as an indicator that its still quite good in addressing them.

The fact that many people take it by the word is unfortunate, but very human and not limited to religion alone. Just look at the influence Cosmopolitan has on some womens lifestyles. Besides, when you read the New Testament youll realise that Jesus himself wasnt too fond of people who hammered on words and forgot about life in the process.
