One more comment about concept: in sociology one of my specialisation fields concepts are not universally defined. Rather, at the beginning of each research paper the good sociologist exactly defines what s/he means which each key concept used in his/her paper. But these exact definitions may differ from one sociologist to the other. Some concepts are re-used, other altered, others abandoned... Its all very fluid, not at all black-and-white.
