I agree. A lot of the ongoing exploitation is actually aimed at maintaining our high rate of meat consumption. Its perhaps the arguments Susanne used that didnt quite convince me. It made me think of a scene I saw in Brazil where a beggar was sitting in the dirt while a lady walked by with her little poodle, for whom more money was probably spent on food in a day than the beggar could afford in a week.
